Schools are expected to be ever more efficient in the delivery of ICT across the National Curriculum and the maintenance of their ICT infrastructure. Schools that can fund an on-site technician have found that teachers with higher quality ICT support are more likely to use technology in their teaching, and in a wider variety of ways, than teachers receiving lower quality support. I provide frontline technical support and advice on the whole range of ICT requirements - software, hardware (whiteboards, projectors etc), peripherals (cameras, printers etc), networking, internet and wireless.

The level of IT proficiency of teachers and support staff can vary enormously. As with any skill, continuing professional development is key to maintaining and improving standards. I work with all staff to plan an ongoing scheme of work that is designed to suit their individual needs from basic computer training to advanced levels.
Areas of training include all Microsoft applications, whiteboard training, best practice and self help maintenance issues. |
Websites are an important element for any school and should be an invaluable source of information for parents, pupils and staff. I create websites for a variety of people and organisations. For schools there is a particular emphasis on keeping a website fresh with current news and information and creating a resource for teaching staff and pupils.
